Most law offices operate on an hourly system.  They require that you pay them a retainer, which they work off of at a fixed hourly rate until the retainer is exhausted.  That's when they want you to refill the tank and start the process over.  That means every email, every phone call, every motion filed, letter written, or anything at all done on your case is draining away that retainer that you paid. 

At the Morgan Law Office, we operate on another system that we call the Term Flat Rate.  You pay one flat rate that covers you for a period of months that we discuss at the beginning of your case.  So you pay the initial payment, and then, for example, if your term is for 6 months, you pay no more money regardless of how many emails are sent, phone calls are made, court appearances are needed, or any other work on your case with the exception of expenses for the entire 6 months.  After the 6 month term we can renegotiate another term. 

With this system, you the client don't hesitate to contact the office knowing that the meter is running while you are talking with your lawyer.  I feel that this enhances the attorney client relationship, and helps the Morgan Law Office represent your interests better.
